BIO:
Vanessa was born in Nassau Bay, Texas and enjoyed a childhood of moving around the country while her father served in the Coast Guard. When it was time for him to retire, she moved with her family to McAllen, Texas and considers it her hometown. She attended the University of Texas – Pan American, graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she continued her education at the University of Texas School of Law, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2017.
After graduating from law school, Vanessa worked as a paralegal at the United States Attorney’s office. After spending a few years working in the civil division, she studied for and took the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) while working full time, passing the bar in 2022. Vanessa joined Mazurek, Belden, & Burke, P.C. as an Associate Attorney in 2026.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, attending concerts, and reading.
