BIO:
Chance is originally from Comanche, Texas, and is a Founding Shareholder of Mazurek, Belden & Burke, P.C., starting the firm in 2008.
Prior to founding the firm, he worked in the oil and gas industry as both a field landman and as an in-house landman, primarily focused on title examination and title curative. However, he has since expanded his practice to all areas of the oil and gas industry. Because of his different roles and experience within the oil and gas industry, he has the knowledge and a unique perspective that allows him to advise his clients accordingly. Chance is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
In 2017, he opened Cima Abstract Company (Cima), a title insurance agency, in his hometown of Comanche, Texas, serving Comanche County. Opening Cima has only grown his knowledge of land titles and further expanded his practice. He also manages Western Abstract & Title Company, a title insurance agency serving Reeves County, Loving County, and Culberson County, Texas.
Chance’s practice covers oil and gas specifically, more generally energy law and real estate law. He is a licensed escrow officer and also works as a fee attorney for real estate transactions.
Chance met his wife Kendall on his first day working in the oil and gas industry in 2007, and they now have two children, Logan and Penn. Chance and Kendall are active in the San Antonio community, volunteering for numerous organizations and serving on various boards of other organizations. He enjoys competing in various endurance sports, coaching his children’s youth sports teams, and generally spending time with his family.
