Jacob was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he continued his education at St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2023.
During law school, Jacob distinguished himself through both leadership and service. He served as the Executive Editor of The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice, Volume 25, and as the Vice Magister of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Jacob also worked as a teaching and research assistant for former Dean of St. Mary’s University School of Law, Bill Piatt, where he helped teach both Constitutional Law and Professional Responsibility. In that role, he contributed to academic research focusing on Indigenous communities and the legal rights of non-federally recognized Indian tribes.
Before pursuing law, Jacob competed as an NCAA cross-country athlete, where he developed the discipline and endurance that now characterize his work in the legal field, as well as his love for competitive sports. Outside of the office, Jacob enjoys long-distance running, fishing, hiking, videography, serving at his local church, and studying the Bible.
